Malibu morning picture of the day - Thursday, July 17, 2014

Good morning family, friends, and gentle readers. Finally we have some blue peeking out in the AM this week:

And a big 'ol cloud overhead, rather like sitting under a large balcony in a theatre.

Culver City

... and extra shots of what it looked like at the Culver City train station on my daybreak journey today.

I was planning to bike from CC to Sta Monica this morning, but everything was running late. Biking that leg back in the evening can be faster than the freeway. Last night it took nearly 90 minutes for the bus to get from  Ocean and Colorado to Culver City Station.  So wishing I had been on bike last night instead.
Culver City

I learned something at a tax seminar the other night. That if you are a grower of marijuana for commercial purposes, you cannot take off any expenses or credits otherwise allowed (seed, water, potting soil, lights, mileage, fertilizer, packaging, security systems, etc.). So, if you margin is fairly thin, you may be surrendering all of your profit to the IRS if you are being compliant.

Kinda makes Uncle Sam the ultimate drug lord eh? If we can get Congress to remove it from scheduled substances, that tax issue will disappear for growers, but don't hold your breath. the MJ lobby is not very strong ... yet--but it sure has the potential to be an industry in the billions, I'd say especially if the alcohol or tobacco companies started to move in on that turf. Enough of politics. Enjoy your Thursday.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
