Malibu morning picture of the day - Monday, July 7, 2014

Happy American Seven-Seven day to you.

Here're your Monday morning pictures. The sky has a multiple personality today depending on which way you face:

Turn to the north and it's sunny.

Turn to the west and its partly cloudy.

Turn to the east and it's gloomy.
There's a lesson in here someplace, but I'm too dense to get it. If you don't like what you see in front of you, change directions--hopefully it's not more of the same. But if you live on the border, on the edge, chances are better to see a difference. That's my take-away.

In the greeting I say "American Seven-Seven" being the seventh day of the seventh month on the American calendar. There's nothing special about this day except maybe some gamblers might go out and buy at lottery ticket at 7:07 AM/PM. On the Chinese folk calendar, the seventh day of the seventh lunar month is an auspicious day--and for those of you who are reading my story, 7-7 in the year 2012 was crucial to my characters.

When Chinese Seven-Seven comes up on Saturday, August 2, I'll try to remember to put up an appropriate post to educate those of you who know nothing about it. Hold on til then (or look it up). It would be nice if the Seven-Seven chapter posting would coincide that day, but I don't think it'll happen. I'll be announcing a graduation for the business school that day, and coincidentally probably having a great ol' time butchering the names of some the 50-odd Chinese national students who graduate from our Applied Finance Program every year.

Have a great start to the week.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
