Malibu morning picture of the day - Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Dear Family, Friends, and Gentle Readers,

Third week of August, just out of a heat wave, and we have a regression to the marine layer and June Glume here.

Not as chilly as it looks, but quite cool comparatively to the last few days. Here's a second look across the bay to Santa Monica, Palisades, and environs ...

Just to color it up a bit, I'll feed you in some of the street art I found around San Diego.

If yr down in San Diego Ocean Beach area and you are looking for a casual place to eat, you need to go BBQ House on Newport. I go there nearly every time I'm in the area--it's inexpensive and good (it's hard to find a place to park so I always go into the pay lot).

This is the joint I remember--very hole in the wall mom and pop--but they've since remodeled and look more like your usual beach bar kind of place (dark, wood paneled). Still good and relatively inexpensive.

There's a lot of street art around Ocean Beach and I took some photos. There are quite a few of these "mosaic" type murals which look to be the work of many children who are each assigned a square to do in a larger predetermined layout.

Artists unattributed but collaborative, Marine Life Mosaic #1, paint on wall.

As you can see, the marine life theme is strong around there. These sure make it a nice homey, picturesque place, in addition to the beach vistas that are just a block away.

Have a great Tuesday.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
