Happy New Year to you all on this first general workday for 2016! Here's the outlook on the Southern California coast this morning.
At 7:30 AM the ocean was pretty dark due to the thick cloud cover above. We did have dramatic sunbreakage out to the east. Can't really appreciate it in this photo, Weather forecast today is dampness and showeriness, but a major storm is supposed to persist over us for two days, lighten up on Thursday with clearing on Friday. We'll see if it actually happens.
The ground was wet in Hollywood, but dry out in Malibu.
I'm doing my own cultural mash-up too. It's the Chinese Year of the Monkey coming up, so I went out of my way to find Monkey ornaments for everyone. I found this set of three to correspond to my three grandkids. This gang, together for the last time, is breaking up. The two on the left have gone to the locals, and the red one is on his/her way to Washington State. Washington Girl doesn't read the blog so this is not a spoiler. Ain't Xmas a lot of fun?
And the kids gave me a present too--Norovirus! Starting with the New Year, the bowels wanted a fresh start and promptly put me down for three days clearing out all remnant of Christmas cheer from the GI system, and into days of bedrest. Since nature had hit my restart button, I decided to take the cue and go from clear liquids to the minimal "caveman" diet for a month to see if it'll make any difference in my state of health, which has been downright crummy lately.
You all know I'm something of a pseudoscientific weather observer (the whole point of this blog is daily visual data point gathering); so I'll post some data as I forsake grains and see what happens. This could be very short-lived, and will be guaranteed to be very boring. But I'm putting it at the end of the blog which nobody gets to anyway. It's my accountability study.
Cheers and Love!

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
