"Famous Half Jew" and Malibu morning picture of the day - Tuesday, December 8, 2015

Dear Family, Friends, and Gentle Readers,

It's a clear blue sky here on the coast today, as we enter into another L.A. December day in the upper 70s. A friend who relocated to Boston was back to visit for Thanksgiving, and he told me my everyday pictures of blue skies really kills him as he suffers in the cold back on the east coast. May these pics at least give you the memory of warmth my friend ...

No second shot worthy of viewing today. But let's not have that keep us from looking at what else Southern California has to offer us.

AND NOW, FROM THE "OUT OF BOUNDS" GALLERY

Here's a face that everybody my age knows. Probably other people too who keep up by watching historical TV.

Artist "ALEC" or "Reo"(?), Goldie and Gold Boys, detail, 2014, paint on boutique.

That's right, it's Goldie Hawn, first famous because of her appearance as a bikini dancing teenager in "Laugh-In" who later went on to many interesting roles in movies.

This mural sits on the westward facing wall of some boutique in West Hollywood off Melrose near the Design Center.

I've had this in the folder for a while wondering when it should come out. Now that we are deep in 2015 Hanukkah, Adam Sandler's holiday tune is making airplay and he outs her and Paul Newman as Jews, or rather "half-Jews," so what better occasion? I suppose between her and Farrah Fawcett, they must have inspired millions of boy-hours of fervent masturbation in the 1970s. Thank you Goldie.

The artist is making a play on richness of her name and deployed two symbols of wealth into this mural as well, Richie Rich of comic book fame, and the Little Tycoon from the Monopoly board game.

There is also a delightful red-on-red mono-chromatic background playing in the picture as well. These Monopoly guys are very subtle, but they are indeed there and present adding movement, action, and commentary to the entire scene. And here are some of the not-so-hidden background characters.

And now for the whole thing:

Ain't this a grand scene? I'm sort of thinking that the words "LAUGH-IN" are indicated in the background behind the angelic Richie Rich, but the I think it more suggestive than explicit. If you see it in a direct way, you've got a better eye than me.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
