"Big Hands" and Malibu morinig picture of the day - Friday, October 9 ,2015

Dear Family, Friends, and Gentle Readers,

It's a clear morning out on the coast at 7:30 AM on Friday, October 9, 2015.

And, we've built up a layer of smog to flow in and out I see (the red-brown haze on the bay). It's going to be hot today. I stood in the sun to take these pictures and it make me break into a sweat it was that warm already.

AND NOW A BONUS FEATURE FROM THE "OUT OF BOUNDS" GALLERY:

Last Sunday I was down near the L.A. Convention Center and I found these on sides of buildings facing into a large parking lot on Olympic and Fig?

Talk about "giving yourselves a big hand" ... ba-dump!

Here you go. And the hand behind the white hand is a black hand. What do you suppose the meaning in that is?

The artist was not around to ask, but that makes no difference. What does it say to you? That is the true interactivity of artistic expression.

And below us here, let's have a look at one that is even more stories tall...

By the way, if you've never tried, hands are hard to draw, they really are. If you look at artist's first attempts at drawing comic strips or comic books, they might get the bodies and faces right, but nobody gets hands right at the start. You have to draw them and keep on drawing them for about a year before you start to understand them.

So, when you see really good articulations of hands, be impressed.

I will leave you now here, in good hands. Ba-dump.

Have a great weekend, and seize the day.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
