Malibu morning picture of the day - Tuesday, May 12, 2015

Dear Family, Friends, and Gentle Readers,

Ah, finally I think I'm back to routine. Here's your morning picture from the coast.

Another mid-spring overcast day in the Southland. I am sure we will have more of this.

No cupcakes today to give you color today, but let share with you something today that street artists do here and there. They will paint on areas where maybe only a little bit might peek out from the corner of a building. In a lot of these cases, if you took to trouble to climb up to a roof you would see a full finished production, but often it's just these peek-a-boo works. There are several on Melrose Avenue. Here's one in an alley parallel to Melrose, west of my self-assigned territory.

Artist CBS?, Giant Golden Centipede, paint on building.
The only people who will ever see this work are neighborhood people who cut through this alley on foot (it cannot be seen from a car window) or the delivery people who park in this alley--truly a secret treasure work.

When you are here, if you imagine that you have wandered into the cartoon world of Toon Town (a la Who Killed Roger Rabbit?), you would spot this guy eyeing you, perhaps for the kill, because you know a creature with 100 legs is going to feel VERY secure coming quickly down a wall toward you. Good thing you packed your trusty Neutronic Blaster as your sidearm today. Good hunting to you.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
