Malibu morning picture of the day - Mardi Gras, Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Dear Family, Friends, and Gentle Readers,

Tuesday has come and here is your picture of the day:

Grey and overcast this morning. It will get up into the mid-70s I understand. It won't feel like summer today, but looks like we've ramped down at least to a typical June Gloom morning.

And here's your second look--not too different.

I can't bear to just leave you with all that grey this morning. As I was cutting through the backyard of my parents' house this morning, I noticed many of the flowers are in bloom there and took a few snapshots. They won't last too long.

Here's a splash of orange from the front yard's bird of paradise beds. Yes, we get a lot of flowers blooming in February here.

The bird of paradise is Los Angeles' official city flower. If you put one in the ground, all you have to do is just pull out the dead heads and trim off the dead leaves. It is fine with the meager water that this climate provides, but it is nice to give them some water on purpose now and then--you'll probably get more flowers that way.

Enough of the botany lesson. I was late to work, so gotta pay the rent.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
