Malibu morning picture of the day - Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Dear family, friends, and gentle readers,

Tuesday has arrived. Here's the view on the water's edge today.

Clear, cool (right now), cotton puffs doing a circle dance.

Moonset at East Hollywood
When I left the house this morning, I caught this moon getting ready to set over East Hollywood. Supposedly on Sunday it was a "Super Moon" (a full moon close to the Earth in its orbit).

On that subject, East Hollywood has been my home for most of my 56 years. I have to say I'm not particularly fond of it, but it's international, run-down, beaten-down character is deeply infused my pessimistic, urban soul.

Malibu morning view #2
That said, I will probably not be here for my 57th year and beyond and so I'm going to try snap representative scenes of my "domestic backdrop" where I have played for nearly six decades, so I can have some kind of visual record when the mind eventually fails me. It does have it's endearing points, from the Thai massage parlor, to the gay bathhouse, from the Ukrainian Orthodox church, to "Hospital Row" to the seedy Sunday swap meet at the community college. The guys in the band are always referencing the Fault Line Bar which is around the corner from me. I've never been in it--but I should probably ask one of the guys to escort me in. It seems quite exclusive.

Hope your Tuesday is off to a great beginning.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
