Malibu morning picture of the day - Thursday, May 22, 2014

Good morning friends, family, and gentle readers,
Here's what Thursday looked like at 7:20 AM.

I got off the bus, looked to my right and saw what appeared to be a row of sunbeams in military lineup.

Same scene a few minutes later after I got to the top of hill.

Not quite classic May Gray (which I think of as being monochromatic, no breaks between clouds).

The weatherman on the bus TV said we have had a "dry storm" over us for a few days. For those of you who never ride a bus, yes, there are TV monitors on many buses and they broadcast news stories, quizzes, health tips, weather, puzzles, and PSAs. It's annoying if you just want to sit vegetatively, nap or just deprogram from the day's activities. I don't recall there being ads--so if there are, they've failed miserably. There's a health reporter whom they need to tell to open her throat and drop her jaw when taking a breath between phrases to quiet the mouth noise--she sounds like she's slurping soup every 4 seconds--she looks like a model on camera, so maybe all is forgiven by most.

Just a word about orientation here, Malibu's coastline is basically south-facing. So if you traveled in the direction this camera is pointed, you'll not get to Asia, but rather the Pitcairn Islands/French Polynesia, but more likely hit Anarctica because there is nothing but water south of L.A. County (practically the entire continent of South America is east of Florida). Knowing that makes you feel lonely sometimes, but then you just get on the 10 Freeway . . .

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
