Malibu morning picture of the day - April 17, 2014, Maundy Thursday

Good morning one and all,

I'm back from Tax Season 2014. Here's what Malibu looked like today out at the "degree factory" when I reported in at 6:45 today:

Looking east, about 30 seconds before the sun came out of the cloud bank.

These other two, taken, pointed slightly away from the sun, more accurately reflect the muted, diffuse look this morning.

Maundy Thursday, for those of you who do not attend a Christian church that follows the liturgical year, is the day in Holy Week that Jesus hosted "the Last Supper." For the win: we received the sacrament of communion. To the bad: He was betrayed by Judas, and his supporters all fell asleep on him and deserted when things got tough. The "dark night of the soul" happened on a Thursday.

If you are intending to betray a friend, cheat on a lover, break a promise, or in some other way break faith with someone who trusts and loves you, today would be a good day--probably the best day to do it. You'll really drive the point home with history and religion on your side. I hope you have a good reason, because it really hurts to be on the receiving end. But I'm sure you know that.

If you don't go to a service, tonight pour a glass of red wine, eat something bitter like unsweetened chocolate, or fermented vegetables, and sit by yourself quietly in the dark and remember what it was to have been let down. That is something you should do in remembrance of him. If you're someone who right now does not need a ritual to bring out the feelings of betrayal, hang on--it will get better later.

Love,
Pops

Be truthful and frank, but be polite. If you use excessive profanity, I'll assume you have some kind of character flaw like Dr. Wong. Tks!
